My Story

When the pandemic began in March 2020, I soon volunteered by delivering care packages to underrepresented families most affected by COVID-19 for the South Brooklyn Mutual Aid. The SBMA was an organization of dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to purchase, package, and deliver these care packages to struggling families throughout South Brooklyn. They needed help with fundraising and I thought of ways to contribute. I came across gotsneakers.com, a company that pays a small amount for each pair of used running shoes sent to them. I was hesitant, but after sending them several bags of used running shoes, I received my first check from them a few weeks later. Once I received that check, I knew this was a legitimate organization. Being a lifelong runner with connections to thousands of runners, I realized I should promote this project to the local running community. Since the pandemic ended, my collection program continues and I now donate to other worthy organizations and individuals locally and internationally. Please scroll past the flyer below to see the latest updates on where the money is going.

Sincerely,

Josh Pesin
